The  things that I'm really passionate about are my blog, movies, music, exploring, social work and the environment.

Have you heard of the Timberland Earthkeepers?

An Earthkeeper is,

 "someone who is concerned about environmental issues and willing to take action to protect our Earth"

I cringe at times to see how we live in such a consumerist age. Where materialism rules my generation.

I am guilty of these crimes too but I try my best to not fall into these traps. It doesn't help that I live in a country that encourages consumerism. To live a lifestyle that is earth friendly, isn't practical here.

But sometimes its the little things that makes a difference.

Things like,

• Recyling
• Buying from thrift stores for a new outfit
• Supporting local and small businesses that are earth friendly
• Turning your house into an energy efficient home.

Deforestation

It's such an ugly word. One that turned the lush and green Horqin pasture in Mongolia into a desert.

One way to not encourage such a brutal action is to buy products made from farmed trees. 

Find out where your item has been made, how its made and the social and environmental impact it makes.

 Be an informed consumer.

Timberland is an organization that takes the environment seriously. They are conscious of the environmental impacts their products have. Being environmentally friendly is part of their core values as an organization.

As I said, I try my best to live an earth friendly lifestyle but for me, I feel that I could do more. So when Nuffnang organized this contest to be a Timberland Earthkeeper, I knew I can't let this opportunity pass.

Together with Greenet, Timberland has sent their Earthkeepers to the Horqin for greening activities since April 2010, in hope that the Horqin Desert will once again be a lush and green pasture.

A million trees has been planted and Timberland Earthkeepers plan to plant two million more.

Last week some G+ members were invited to a food tasting at Spice Brasserie.

Spice Brasserie is a restaurant in Park Royal Hotel. A very chic and elegant hotel.

They specialize in buffet menus but they also have ala carte items.

They are having a wonderful promotion of featuring specialized dishes for different days and as it was a Tuesday, we had a wonderful Thai Cuisine spread!

The spread is extensive with over 60 dishes! There are a two permanent fixtures at Spice Brasserie and they are their famous Teochew porridge and the Japanese sushi bar that serves the freshest sashimi you can find!

It was quite unlucky for me that day that I wasn't feeling that well that I couldn't take some of the dishes.

 Say hi to the female chef in charge of the buffet. Chef Jeeranan. Its quite rare to have a female chef and she prepared everything on her own! Even the beautiful fruit carvings!

The restaurant is also perfect for corporate events and birthday celebrations!

Oh and I believe that Spice Brasserie is having an Easter Special, a children's buffet with lots of fun activities.

So mummies and daddies, if you want to do some shopping, why not drop of your kids here for the children's buffet. Don't worry the staff are friendly and can take care of your children. Just remember to pick them up on time!

For such a high end buffet the prices are definitely value for money with the lowest price being $27++ for a normal buffet lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays lunch.

If however you want to try a more specific buffet, their offers are.

Anyway, I was invited to go along for a Live Hunt at Paragon Shopping Centre!

We started off at the DKNY Store in Paragon where we were given instructions and we downloaded thr SCVNGR app to my best friend's phone.

(Did I mention I brought along my best friend fran?? Because I have no iPhone/Android phone but she has. :P)

We have to follow one of the five trek either the businessman, the backpacker, the artist, the model or the rockstar.

We chose the artiste Carla of course! :D

We clicked on the location..

And searched for the 3 tasks we're suppose to do!

So yea we did complete the hunt but although we both did it separately (me on her phone and BFF on her ipod touch 4) only one of us got the prize cos there was only one left (We were late to start) D:

So the winner got a $50 gift voucher at DKNY JEANS and a really cool thumbdrive! I love the Fall/Winter Collection by the way and I'm so going to buy something from there for Christmas! :D

Apart from having a new RNPC, other new features of the games include a new map expansion, Castilla Island, Free RNPCs which were once cash items, new dungeons, new roulette item reward system for fairer reward distribution and new expert stances.

The reason why its a "Renaissance" Ball is because the new version features renaissance influence and architecture, moving away from the baroque influences it had previously.

Hong Peng and Joyce were at the event too! Note HP's t-shirt. Hehe.

Venessa and her boyfriend, who wanted to try the game but no such luck. D:

I wanted to try too!

The food was awesome! It was mostly petit fours but generous in amount and I am in love with the Argentinian dessert wine.

I loved it a little too much a think.

The sucessful bidders of the auctions! Together their bid amounted to over $7000!! The highest bid was $1,300 for an in game item!

Overall a wonderful night!

Toys Story 3!

How many of you grew up watching Toys Story and Toys Story 2?

Well they're back! *squeel!!*

Ever since I watched this show I believed my toys were alive and I would pretend to sleep at night hoping to catch my Barbie Dolls in action but sigh.. No such luck.

Well my all time favourite character is Rex the dinosaur!

Why is he my most favourite character??

Well for one thing, he defeated Emperor Zurg in Toys Story 2!

And secondly he's the only tyrannasaurus rex that has paranoia!



So basically in Toys Story 3 Andy is all-grown up and off to college giving away his toys.. Aww..

My favourite scene in the trailer is of where Mr. Potato Head became Mr. Zuchinni Head!! Thats a definate LOL moment.

Rendezvous With Me

Before I introduce you to this awesome band, I'd like to say some things to clarify stuff. :D

I was approached on my blog to post up an article about Rendezvous and AJ said that I could take credit for it but I'm an ethical person, I live by my disclosure policy and who believes in Karma so I write this based on the original with my honest and true opinion. :D

First thing first, RENDEZVOUS IS THE SEX!!

They are a two person Indie Band whose music falls under Jazz Electropop. Electronica and Jazz is a mix never done before to my knowledge and they're the first to mesh these two awesome music genres.

I think what really makes them stand out is that they created contemporary digital music with analogue equipments, vintage analogue equipments and instruments, and make it sound so so easy!




The vintage analogue equipment makes their music so much more unique than any others because they don't have the preset that current digital equipments have.



And that there is Itai Simon the bass guitarist. I'm jealous of him for two reasons, I'll never be able to play the bass like him (Heh, Bet you didn't know I played huh? Well it was a sweet and brief affair.). And he owns a VINTAGE 1966 FENDER PRECISION BASS GUITAR!!!

  Rendezvous has been around for awhile and has a number of underground following but its only now that their getting their debut album launched by none other than David Bascombe!
  (if you don't know him, slap yourself. He's renowned London producer who has collaborated with Verve, Natalie Imbruglia, Kylie Minogue, Suede, and etc.) You've got to thank the guy for introducing Rendezvous to the majority.

Wanted: The Mad Hatter, A Contest

THE MAD HATTER

A.K.A: The Hatter, Hatter, Mad Hatter
Crime: Conspiring with Alice against the rule of the Red Queen
Most distinctive features:
- Orange hair due to Mercury poisoning
- Top Hat with all sorts of knick-knacks tucked in
- His love of tea parties

If found report it to Jan so I can have a tea party with him and discuss more of Alice's plan to defeat the evil Red Queen.

My favourite character is of course The Mad Hatter simply because he is played by Johnny Depp, Mr. Perfect and I love his eccentric nature.
One other fact bout the Mad Hatter:

1. He and the March Hare are stuck at 6 o' clock for a long ago crime where the Queen of Hearts accused him of murdering time. Usually it would be an "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" scenario but since he escaped, Time was offended for him for "murdering time"

5 Things I Love and The One Place I Where I Get My Highs, An Advertorial

I love five things and only five things. (People are not counted.)

I love the sun by the beach.


I love ice-cream and how it makes me happy.


I love novels because they take me to places I've never been.


I love writing down and drawing out my thoughts, hopes and dreams.


I love the quirky things I find and I treasure each and every find.

The Cathay

First on my list. The sun and the beach! Wait a minute. Hmm. There's no sand or sea or surf in here. Hmm... And I honestly can't say I can go the beach yet in the state I'm in.



Oh look its Strip Co-Ed! Now I can prepare myself for a day out at the beach! :D No more bikini line or hairy legs for me! Hee! Its painless (who am I deluding??) and the feeling of smooth legs plus the tan you'll get will be so worth getting waxed!

It's been hot lately. Don't you agree? The weather's too hot even to go to the beach. I prefer the balmy type of hot but phew its really hot today.



Hmm. What's this? It sounds very familiar. I've seen it before.



A cow?? I've been here before! Now just to recall the name. Let's go down and take a look shall we?



Ooh.. What's this. Looks like..



Oh yes its becoming clearer to me now. Yum!



Mint Chocolate Chunk! Yay! Its I Scream at Ben & Jerry's! An awesome flavour to beat the heat too!



Now what else is on my list? Let's walk around.



Wood Would.. Let's take a look shall we??



Journals!! I need one! I need all!! Muahahah!



An Exercise Journal, I definitely want this. I can finally keep track of the work out I did. Remember Jan, as part of you new resolution, you need to work out at least twice week!



They also have quirky trinkets abound! I wonder if the writing desk is for sale? It'll fit in nicely in my room.
I heard they change stock daily! So its a one of a kind or limited only! Especially their greeting cards. Oh and I saw some awesome reads. I'm pretty sure you'd have to get them online cos other bookstores won't have them.

There's only two stores in Singapore and of it is in The Cathay!

Looking at all that makes me want to explore more. What other unique finds will I find next.



I feel like I'm being drawn to those light bulbs like a moth.

A LARGE size slice of pizza, with chicken drumlets and a drink for the set meal. I'd say New York Pizza is so worth trying.

I think I've just reached my saturation point. *burb*


The Cathay is such an awesome place. There are unique shops at every level you won't find anywhere else but a girl can only take so much happiness in one day.
