Homemade Blockbuster

Forget your Monday blues tomorrow after watching this music video.

Homemade Blockbuster a Brazilian band went and did an "urban intervention" the night before Brazil's equivalent of Valentine's Day and to debut their new single entitled, Heartlights.

Guess what they did?
They went around posting heart-shaped stickers on the red lights all over town.

Pretty fawesome yea?

Music: Love Came For Me

Today's the big night! Dinner and Dance! *screams*

I won't be bloggging till monday and for tomorrow I scheduled a blog post!

For now enjoy this beautiful song, Love Came For me from the 1984 box-office hit, "Splash"

Which I'm watching slowly. Tom Hanks was such a hottie then. Haha!

I love this movie, well any movie based on Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid.

The music, Love Came For Me is by Rita Coolidge and its such a romantic song to listen to while you drink a cup of hot cocoa at home on rainy days.

PS: The movie lead to the meteoric popularity of the name, Madison for girls in the 1990s.

Okay enough, day dreaming! I gotta go prepare for tonight! (Yes I know its only 12ish but haha, I'm a worrywort)

I am free!

Exams are over and this weekend I'm going shopping.

What a way to celebrate escaping from one form slavery to another.

Lol.

Oh well, shopping is therapeutic and soothing to my soul. A small consolation just before I start job hunting.

Just wished my Best was around. She's so busy nowadays. D:
Okay, I've been guilty of being too busy too I guess.

Here's a freedom playlist I found on 8tracks.com

I love the fact that my favourite Bob Marley song is first on the list!
Nothing like Iron Lion Zion to celebrate freedem albeit a false one.

Song of the Week: Wishing He Was Dead

I was trolling through the web for anything Kate Spade and I saw video (HUGE fan right here) of the launch of their pop-up shop in london.

The first thing that got to me was the awesome decor featured at the event and the second thing was the music.

I got curious and decided to do a bit of googling which was quite easy to find.

Title of the Song: Wishing He Was Dead
Band: The Like

I fell in love and I suddenly had the urge to start an all-girl band. Me the Bassist. (Frankly, I believe its the only instrument I won't screw up playing), Best friend on vocals and an ad for a guitarist and drummer.

Anyway listening to The Like, is like being in a time-warp to the 60s. They're like the female version of the Beatles except a little less 'feel-good' music, more angst yet keeping to the vibes of that era.

If you don't understood that, watch their music video.

PS: they're going on tour in Australia. D:

Sometimes I wished I lived there. Main stream music is quite strong here in Singapore and I'm not really into that.

Song of the Week: Britney Spear's new single.

ish me all you want, I've always been a fan of Britney Spear's music.

The first ever album I bought was her debut album when she first broke out. I was 13 then I think.

Her personal life is her life and Chris Crocker has balls (no pun intended) to defend her. I guess the media scrutiny does that to you.

Anyway, presenting Britney's latest single,

Hold it Against Me

So what do you think?

Personally, I love it.

But the so called "leak" of her album? I think its staged.
Enjoy your weekend!

Music Feature - Little & Ashley

This week there's two music feature because I listened and I can't wait and blog about it next week!

I was on youtube surfing and came across the stop motion kindle commercials and the songs of the commercials are just so cute which just goes really really well with the cute videos!

I did some snooping and found out all the songs are from a duo, Annie Little and Marcus Ashley, otherwise known as Little & Ashley

Waking Up Famous - Image from littleandashley.com
Below's the video of a Kindle Ad starring them!

I can't find an official music video yet of their music but I did find this full length song from youtube.

If only I knew about them earlier cos this song from their same-titled album was a free download on Amazon for a limited time.

Featured Music - Train

Since Christmas is just tomorrow I thought why not feature a music artist/band singing a Christmas song.

Coca-Cola has a Christmas song entitled Shake Up Christmas and I love the music video of Train performing this song!

Train has been around since 1998. If you don't know them, have your heard the song "Drops of Jupiter"?

Yep, they're the band that brought us that wonderful song.

I just wished that the lead singer, Pat Monahan dress his age.

I love her folksy-upbeat music!

Watch the music video for her most popular song to date!

I'm in Love with Misty Miller

I'm a huge fan of Burberry and when Angela Ahrendts, The CEO of Burberry was article on WSJ. (Wall Street Journal's magazine) recently on how she turned the brand image around.
(Emma Watson for their SS 2010 Collection!!)
And how she used social media platform for Burberry.
She also mentioned about Burberry Acoustic and I told myself I gotta check it out!

When I did, Misty Miller caught my heart.

PS: Check out the video of Burberry's Winter Storms Collection

I'm wishing for a snow storm in Singapore now.

One of my idiosyncrasy is that I must listen to music when I leave the house all the way to my destination.

If I don't I know my day won't turn out right.

And to really really make sure its perfect, the songs I listen too has to be kickass.

Its become almost a ritual. I'll be out of sort if I don't get my daily dose of kickass music.

The Anti-Valentine's Day Song

Okay folks with no dates this Valentine's Day. I'm not looking down on you. Just stating a fact. And don't give me crap about, Valentine's day is comercialised and I'm not feeding greeting card coporations with my money.

FACT IS YOU HAVE NO DATE. I'm pretty sure if you did, you won't be spouting nonsense.

Anywho, Here's a song that I advocate should be the theme song for Anti-Valentine's Day. Its only 58 seconds long.

How Fucking Romantic - Magnetic Fields
I couldn't find the actual video or song anywhere online and if I want to embed it here I need to upload my copy of the song up on a server which I have to pay for.
Maybe when I'm rich I can buy my own domain and I can post up mixtapes for all to download. :D

And since we're on the topic of anti-valentine's day here's a list of other great songs on topics of anti-love/loniliness in case someone out there wants to create a playlist.

1. Bad Romance - Lady GAGA

2. Bitter Heart - Zee Avi

3. Kantoi - Zee Avi (heh. I'm a fan)

4. Love Me Dead - Ludo

5. Love Sick Stomachache - Bowling For Soup

6. Motorcycle Drive By - Third Blind Eye

7. I Don't Need A Man - PCD

8. In The Cinema Alone - A Little Place In The Wilderness

9. I'm Leaving You Because I Don't Love You - Jens Lekman

So that's 10 songs up there including How Fucking Romantic.

Sadly I have a date for Valentine's Day! Just that I'll probably be celebrating it on the 12 or 13.

I already have a hint of where Mr. Wonderful will bring me. Its Italian and possibly posh. Lol.
He hates me for my sometimes scary accurate almost psychic guess.
