What do you do when you're young, broke and in love?

Being broke sucks.

But being a very creative person who has been penniless before, I know how to have fun.
: D
Mr. Wonderful and I spent the afternoon away at Vivocity's Sky Park splashing about and taking photos.

 (eek! Tree stump legs!)

I like to call this the posterboy photograph. Just imagine the Air Force motto stamp above his head saying,

"ABOVE ALL"

 I love this shot!

 Cliche shot.

This is super funny! His feet looks like decomposing feet in the water!

Dead? Bee floating in the water
This ish nice!

Most of the photos are taken by Mr. Wonderful except those of his photos.
I just didn't like how grainy most of them turned out.

Diving Headlong!

In my last post, I was toying with the idea of starting an online shop.

I had lots of encouragement but no tips, except for one. Lol.

I guess blogshop owners aren't really willing to share their sucess stories.

So anyway,

I'm going to do it!

I've already created the blog! Its going to be called Plain Whimsy! (Such an awesome name right?? Like Waking Up Famous)

And basically I'll be selling handmade trinkets! Yay! And I'm working on building up a good stock before putting anything up.

Here's a sneak peek at what I'm doing! Hee! Excited much?

I am thinking of putting up my stuff on Etsy.com seeing as how the criteria for opening a shop there is that it has to be handmade or real vintage items.

In my opinion, its so much more affordable setting up there than Jipaban.
Jipaban charges you a lump sum for every 6 months where at etsy, you pay USD0.20 per item you listed online and 3.5% of sales transaction.

I don't happen to have a lump sum Jipaban is asking for to open a shop there. So I'm just going to stick by my online shop and move it to etsy if it takes off.

So yea, I'll let you all know when Plain Whimsy is ready!

Crazy Ideas

I think I'm going to try and start my own online shop.

I've gots of handmade stuff lying around and I've got nothing else better to do.
What do you think?
Any idea how to go about starting my own shop?

National Runway Cycling and Skating 2010

Yesterday was Father's Day. How did you celebrate this event?

Well my dad and I indulged in one of our favourite activity.

Cycling!
Yes, I'm taller than my dad and yes the cap's from Toys R Us which I was suppose to return when I quit there. :P

I used to actively cycle with my dad where I'd join him and his other cycling buddies just going around Singapore aimlessly. We even had a Street Directory Map where my dad highlighted the routes he has taken. He even went from Hougang, where we used to stay, and cycled all the way to Jurong Island before they closed the roads off to the public due to 9/11.

I enjoy night cycling on the road best. No unruly drivers trying to clip you, no sun and the whole road pactically belongs to us.

One of the event we used to go for was the Safra National Runway Cycling. Now called Safra National Runway Cycling and Skating. (Skaters are such a nusiance I tell you. They account for the most accidents that happened at the event)
This year I joined him again! And so did Mr. Wonderful who had to attend cos the Air Force woefully told him he has to.

I borrowed the bicycle - a racer - from my dad's friend who wasn't going and I am going to definitely get one for myself seeing how smooth it rode.

I love this event! Cyclists (and skaters) are set loose on Paya Lebar Airbase Runyway! Whoots!

The event started pretty early, we were there by 7:45 AM and we cycled there from home.

Just before the flag off. Lots of people. Really huge turn out.

I signed up for the 15km lesuire cycle and my dad did the 45KM Shimano endurance.
He wanted me to do it but it's too daunting. Lol.

And we're off!

I'm super glad it didn't rain but the weather was so so hot.

And I left Mr. Wonderful behind and just cycled on. Sorry! Just being on wheels like that, makes me feel like flying and bicycles like mine are meant to fly.

I started taking photos at the finish point while waiting for Mr. Wonderful. That Photo is Project 52-worthy but, urgh, had to end it. D:

People resting, pretty much not caring about the heat cos we're all sweaty and smelly by then and it's a great way to get a tan.

People who participated.
Proffessional looking in-line skater.

Aunty's and Uncle's.

Little Kids.

Little-er kids who still use training wheels.

Kids so little they can't cycle yet

And Cheaters with motorized bicycles.

Look who finally arrived!

He survived his 5th cycling experience! Apparently he had problems with his gears. And when I changed it for him. He wen't like "OOHHH!!!!"

Haha! Such a noob. But I'll be there to train him.

We went for a second round at a much easier pace cos

1. My ass hurts
2. I still have to cycle home

We took some photos along the way.

At the water point.

Looking suspiciously sun burnt. Oh I can't wear that type of sunglasses. It goes up when I smile.

At the end point. (Yup, definitely sunburnt)

Caught up with my dad with his cycling buddies. All Pinoy! Whoots!
At this point, I got quite embarrased and a bit pissed at my dad for snubbing Mr. Wonderful. Hmph.

With the F-15. Hmm. I want to buy the shirts most of them have on.

With Gellene, our family has been friends since forever.

What I learn:
1.I'm definitely participating next year after not participating for a long time.
2. I need SPF 200+++ sunblock
3. I need padded shorts. I think I've got bruises on my ass!

Procrastination is my biggest weakness

Term Test Period Burned Me Out.

I was so so worried and panicky over my term test, when it was over, I had this complete lapse in.. everything. Gah!

I stopped jogging, blogging and I basically played games, read books, and ate. Alot.

So yea, even now, writing this require lots of forcing myself, to swich on the laptop, go online, upload random photos and post this up.

So here are the photos, of what I've done ever since I've gone kaput from the blogging scene.

At a church BBQ, my friend Josh.

Here's me and Mr. Wonderful still at the church BBQ. Oh and a sneak peak at how I'll look like when I'm 40. (hopefully I look like that but its horrible at how I look like 40 at 21!) Weird camera angle I think.

At the tunnel going towards Esplanade where I watched a free show from the The Flipside festival, The Cardio Boys.

And umm. Basically that's it! Going to laze off now!

Toys Story 3!

How many of you grew up watching Toys Story and Toys Story 2?

Well they're back! *squeel!!*

Ever since I watched this show I believed my toys were alive and I would pretend to sleep at night hoping to catch my Barbie Dolls in action but sigh.. No such luck.

Well my all time favourite character is Rex the dinosaur!

Why is he my most favourite character??

Well for one thing, he defeated Emperor Zurg in Toys Story 2!

And secondly he's the only tyrannasaurus rex that has paranoia!

So basically in Toys Story 3 Andy is all-grown up and off to college giving away his toys.. Aww..

My favourite scene in the trailer is of where Mr. Potato Head became Mr. Zuchinni Head!! Thats a definate LOL moment.

Catch Toy Story 3 Movie starting from 17th June 2010 and join the official Facebook and Twitter page!

HPB Live It Up! Without Lighting Up! - The Great Audio Experience

THIS IS A SUPER LOONG OVEDUE POST..

Been so caught up with my tests and finishing projects but yay now I'm free!!

On 29 May 2010 HPB me and bunch of Nuffies participated in the Great Audio Experience!

Unfortunately I was late for the registration (my starting point was at Heeren) but managed to participate as an undercover spy participant. Well basically I stuck out like a sore thumb in a mob of blue.

IMG_2953

See! Me and Mr. Wonderful and I in plain clothes.

And the rest in BLUE!!

We caught up with them at Orchard Central where we await Mr. Young's instruction on 987FM.

I admit it was a confusing moment and I kinda had no idea what was going on.

But I did take lots of photos!! (Let's play a game of spot the nuffies!)

I

On our way to the second stop!

At Istana Park! Our task was, we were to give a white dollar note with a fact about smoking (YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF MONEY BY NOT SMOKING YOU KNOW!!) to random people on the street that were there but umm, there were only two tourists and they walked off before we got the go ahead. D:

And then we headed back to our final destination!

IMG_2962

At Plaza Singapura where the blue shirts clashed with the orange and red shirts, peacefully and friendly of course.

So apparently while we were doing our thing, another group of people did theirs.
There was a dance competition and I wished I could have watched it.

And guess what?? The winners of Category A and B took the stage for an encore performance!

Cat B Winners!

They are really really good and young.

Cat A winners!

There are only 3 members in their group but the won. Watch the video to find out why!

So yea, at this point I lost the nuffies in the crowd. Lol.
And I left too. I didn't find out who won the iPad tho.
